The University of Birmingham Motor Racing Club (UBMRC) is the University of Birmingham's very own kart racing and motorsport society.
The society arrange regular events during term time, with particular focus on the annual British Universities Karting Championship each spring, in which we run 2 teams.
The club have a termly varsity match against Warwick Motorsport, the University of Warwick's Motorsport Society. The event proves popular with students from both universities. The event is considered a derby event as the universities are located just 20 miles apart. So far, Warwick have held the upper hand, though most races have been closely fought.

The University of Birmingham have been competing in the British Universities Karting Championship since its inception. They currently run 2 teams, an A team consisting of the best 4 drivers available and a B team which is to allow new drivers the chance to try out the powerful 2-stroke karts
